About Me

I am an Oxford-based oboist with almost 30 years experience of playing. My initial career was as a research physicist, but in early 2020 I decided to make the switch to oboe teaching. In July 2022 I took the Associated Board's DipABRSM teaching diploma exam, pasing with distinction, and I also was awarded distinction in the DipABRSM performance exam. I believe that teachers should never stop learning and improving, and constantly strive to improve my teaching by incorporating new ideas and methods.

I have an enhanced DBS check, and have experience teaching both children and adults. 

As well as teaching I am keen orchestral musician and play in many ensembles, including the Oxford Symphony Orchestra and Oxford Sinfonia.
